If you declare yourself as a web marketing expert and know nothing about the potential of press releases to your business, you are just like a boy who cries wolf. Press releases, though do not give inbound links for your site, also contribute to its visibility for free.

Unlike article and blog posting, a press release is a little bit difficult to create and be published. You have the limitation in word count and standard format to be followed when making one. The only frustrating part is when you submit your press release and none of the online press release publisher sites would like to publish it. Of course, online press publishers are not that mean to ignore your press release piece without having to read a few words. All of them, the true online press publishers (not link farm-related sites) have certain guidelines to follow when approving a submitted piece. There’s always a reason why some of press release articles are rejected by the publishers.

The common reason why a press release is rejected is the lack of news value. Having it written proficiently is not enough. There has to be a news value or something that would arouse reader’s interest. The content must be straightforward and hits the main point right away in the first paragraph. The inverted pyramid arrangement of information is necessary. The most interesting part is written in the first paragraph and boring details are written in the later part.

When writing a press release, you must not forget that you are not presenting a company here. You are presenting an interesting event, perhaps about or that relates to your business or company. Of course, don’t forget to indicate the complete address and contact information of your company at the bottom of the press release page.
